Episode 44: Launching Books and Businesses with Julie Broad

Launching Books and Businesses with Julie Broad
Launching a book can be a scary and daunting task, so is launching a new business. Imagine doing both. Imagine relocating countries as part of that process. Well, this is just another exciting challenge for Julie Broad. From managing tenant housing and real estate investing, to best-selling author on amazon, all these different iterations of her career have directly contributed to getting her where she is today.
Starting her business as part of her visa application, Julie bet it all not just on the business but on herself. Going against the grain and against the odds, Julie put everything on the line. Switching from investing in real estate to investing in herself and others, Julie’s company Book Launchers has catapulted onto the publishing scene. Taking the best of both the worlds, Book Launchers provides the support and marketing of traditional publishers, while still allowing retained ownership and copyrights of self-publishing. This new model has found quick success in a slowly evolving industry.
With some incredibly talented authors in tow, Julie and her team are launching the book publishing world into a whole new direction. Disrupting an industry like Airbnb and Warby Parker, part of Book Launchers’ success is the result of traditional publishers failing to adapt and change. Julie found that out when she tried to publish her first book.
Figuring out the process, but more importantly, finding great books to publish, it’s easy to see why she has experienced so much success. Find out how she did it, the future of books, and launching a business in my conversation with Julie Broad.
